Privacy Policy
HypeWatch displays trending and searched video data from YouTube's Data API. We don't operate our own servers, and we don't collect or store your personal information.
HypeWatch uses YouTube API Services. By using HypeWatch you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
The short version: your saved-video list, your filter choices and any API key you add yourself stay on your own device. We never see them. The app talks directly to YouTube from your device, and ads are served by Google AdMob/AdSense, which may collect limited data as described below.
What's stored, and where
- If you choose to enter your own YouTube Data API key, it is stored only on
your own device — browser
localStorageon the web, orPlayerPrefsin the app. It's never transmitted to us or any server we control. Without your own key, the app uses a built-in key that identifies the app, not you. - Your saved-videos list works the same way — stored locally on your device only.
- Your region/category filter preferences are stored locally for convenience, the same way.
What the app sends to YouTube
To show videos, your device sends requests directly to YouTube's Data API. These requests include the country and category you selected, any words you type into Search, and the API key in use. Like any internet request, they also reveal your device's IP address to Google. These requests go from your device to Google; we don't receive a copy and we don't log them. Google's use of this data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
Advertising
This site and app show ads via Google AdMob and Google AdSense. These services may collect your advertising identifier and other data as described in Google's own policies:
You can reset your advertising identifier or limit ad personalization in your device settings, and manage Google ad preferences at adssettings.google.com.

Your choices and deleting your data
Everything HypeWatch stores lives on your device. You can remove your saved videos, filter choices and any API key you entered by clearing the app's storage in your device settings or by uninstalling the app (on the web, by clearing your browser's site data).
Children's privacy
HypeWatch is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the update will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date above.
